Sandeep Bhatt wrote the research paper "Synthesizer Maximizer - Towards a New Taxonomy Rating Synthesizer User Interface Expressiveness" as a graduate student in NC State University's Master of Industrial Design (MID) program.

In the research paper, Sandeep proposes the development of a taxonomy of expressiveness to facilitate the evaluation of synthesizer user interface design. The paper aims to spur systematic innovation in the design of digital musical instruments to improve expressiveness and enhance the human/instrument connection.
